frequently-asked questions

How do I hire Chargeback Recoup?

To get started as quickly as possible, simply send your chargeback notice and supporting documentation (evidence that shows the chargeback was improper) to support@chargebackrecoup.com. If we accept, we’ll promptly send you a payment link. If we don’t accept, we’ll let you know why.

How much does it cost to hire Chargeback Recoup?

We charge a $40 nonrefundable fee plus 15% of the amount in dispute. You’ll get the 15% back if you don’t win the dispute.

If I use Chargeback Recoup, am I guaranteed to win?

No, we cannot guarantee a result. But we do have a very high likelihood of winning for two reasons: (1) we only accept disputes that already have a good chance of winning; and (2) we know how the process works and how to do it right. Merchants who do it themselves have a lower success rate.

How long will it take to get a decision from the bank about who won the chargeback dispute?

Timelines vary from a few weeks to a few months. It can take as long as 3 months to get a decision.

If I lose the chargeback dispute, how do I get the 15% back from Chargeback Recoup?

If you lose the chargeback dispute, just send us the decision letter and we’ll promptly refund the 15% win fee.

How do I pay Chargeback Recoup?

We’ll send you a payment link if we accept your dispute. If you haven’t received a payment link yet, it means we have not yet accepted your dispute.

What happens if Chargeback Recoup does not accept my dispute?

If we don’t accept your dispute, you can still submit the dispute packet on your own. If we don’t accept, we’ll let you know the reason so you can make an informed decision about moving forward on your own.

Why would Chargeback Recoup not accept a dispute?

Chargeback Recoup may decline to submit the dispute packet on your behalf for a few reasons, including:

The deadline has passed or is in less than 24 hours

There is a low chance of winning with the documents provided

The amount in dispute is less than $200

The merchant doesn’t meet our criteria

How do I know when the deadline is?

The deadline to submit your dispute packet will be in the chargeback notice. Sometimes it’s in a little box on the top right-hand corner of the notice.

The notice says I might have to pay $500 or more. Should I still dispute it?

If you have good supporting documentation, it’s a good idea to dispute the chargeback. That big number is not the price of disputing the chargeback. That number only applies if you lose the dispute and then elevate it to a higher level called arbitration. If you lose at the arbitration level, that’s when you have to pay that number.

Does Chargeback Recoup represent me in the dispute?

No, we only submit the dispute packet on your behalf. You are the only one who will receive the decision and other communications from the bank. Even though the dispute process is called representment, it’s not actually the kind of proceeding where you need representation.

Does Chargeback Recoup help if the dispute gets elevated to arbitration?

No, our services end when we submit the dispute packet on your behalf. If you choose to elevate the dispute to arbitration, Chargeback Recoup will not be involved.

Will Chargeback Recoup give me advice about what to do?

No, Chargeback Recoup will not give you advice about what to do. We provide information about the process and the likelihood of success and you decide what to do with that information.

I paid Chargeback Recoup but then changed my mind. Can I get a full refund?

The $40 fee is nonrefundable, even if you stop us from submitting the dispute packet. You will be refunded the 15% of the disputed amount.
